An online lecture by Barbara Peacock.
The Czech lands have a magnificent architectural legacy with one of the densest concentrations of great houses in Europe. This talk will explore the development of the great house (zámek) from late mediaeval times through the Renaissance, Baroque, Neo-Classical and Romantic periods up to the modern movement of the 1930s.
Barbara Peacock is an architectural historian and is in demand as a lecturer both in Britain and abroad for organisations such as the National Trust, the Art Fund and the Arts Society. Her particular interest is in the art and architecture of the country house and its associated landscape or garden setting.
